United States Antimony Corporation (¡°USAC¡±) (OTCBB:UAMY) announced that it has negotiated a major source of high-grade antimony concentrate for processing at its new USAMSA smelter (USAMSA is wholly owned by USAC) in Coahuila, Mexico. According to the Agreement, 315 metric tons of antimony metal will be shipped to USAMSA in 2009, and 1540 metric tons will be shipped in 2010. Further increases in feed are anticipated from Mexican mines owned or controlled by USAC and other mines in Central and South America. John Lawrence, USAC¡¯s CEO, commented that ¡°these new raw material sources will alleviate USAC¡¯s chronic ¡®sold out¡¯ condition¡± and allow the Company to become a more prominent North American supplier. Meanwhile, prices of antimony metal and oxide have firmed to the $2.50 per pound level and are again approaching the record high of $3.00 per pound in 2008. |
